About

Profitable growth through client-centric strategy and focused execution

Davenport Marketing & Advisory is a specialist strategic advisory and marketing consultancy focused on supporting our clients with strategically managed growth.  Many firms deliver only 63% of their business strategy. More than 1/3 place the figure at less than 50%. (Harvard Business Review). Inadequate planning and execution skills, poor processes and strategy governance are often to blame.  We work collaboratively with our clients to drive profitable growth and improve performance through strategy management frameworks that support execution

Founder and Principal, Julia Davenport

Julia is an energetic and innovative company director and business advisor. A Non-Executive Director with senior executive experience, she is a strategic thinker with strong tactical acumen. Her 30 years of commercial leadership experience has helped propel organisations to the next level of success and position, differentiate and manage brands, win new business and derive maximum value from marketing investment.

Through Davenport Marketing & Advisory, Julia works collaboratively with CEOs, Managing Partners, Boards, CMOs, and Executive teams to develop and implement strategy, change and growth agendas to deliver on firm vision. She is intent on helping clients put their best foot forward to lift organisational performance.

Julia believes clients are the lifeblood of a business. ‘Keeping clients at the centre of your business aligns everyone around one purpose - making your clients successful. But I also believe that execution matters - a lot”.  In August 2014, McKinsey noted "It may surprise you just how much impact execution has on corporate health.” Julia couldn't agree more, so makes sure her support is always pragmatic and aligns with clients’ business strategy.

How we're different

Values

OUR VALUES    WHAT THAT MEANS FOR YOU
Create value  We try to be useful at every encounter and help you get a greater return on your strategy and marketing investment
Relationships first We manage relationships respectfully and work to earn your trust and loyalty. We listen, engage and learn
Be mindful Understanding your business underscores every project. We advise from a position of awareness
Make things simple Complexity stifles innovation, slows development, is expensive, inefficient and ineffective, so we try and eliminate or simplify complexity. We agree with the late Steve Jobs: “Simple is harder than complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple
Transparency What you see or hear is what you’ll get. We’ll tell you what will work and what won’t. When we don’t know something, we’ll tell you, and what costs you’re up for.

Partners

"When you hire Davenport Marketing & Advisory, you get me, or I’ll tell you why not. But I’ll be the first to admit I’m not an expert at everything. So I have a great network of experts, a small community of partners I trust. They are the best people I’ve worked with over many years in discrete disciplines like digital design, copywriting and creative. Their expertise brings much to the table, and I’ll tell you when I think one of them will make a difference" Julia Davenport
